Sunset in the Lowcountry: Bohicket
What happens when a retired school teacher decides to write her debut novel set in the lush landscape of the Lowcountry of South Carolina? The result is an engaging and well-written romp through the life of a 51-year-old widow who thinks her life is over. But being overlooked is decidedly not in our heroine's story! Infused with humor and warmth, Sunset in the Lowcountry: Bohicket illustrates how with a little wit, self-exploration, courage, and perhaps a cocktail or two, women can survive and even thrive in middle age and beyond!

Sunset in the Lowcountry was born out of a desire to speak to women who may feel their lives are over when middle age hits; there's a general opinion that they drink wine, adopt cats or dogs, fight depression and live celibate lives. The world largely ignores these accomplished women who have endured years of education, work, marriage, motherhood, divorce or losing a spouse. Margaret's first novel tells the story of Rosie and the discoveries she makes about life and love and finding excitement on the small barrier island of Seabrook. The situations and people she encounters sometimes leave her feeling insecure, but unconditional love empowers her to make the most of her life.
